Le Treport Shipping Stevedoring (L.T.S)

LE TREPORT is the 3rd port of Seine-Maritime, Normandy, as a matter of yearly tonnage.

Located by the foot of the highest European cliffs, on the Normandy-Picardy borderline, LE TREPORT is a major commercial port in the heart of Europe.

LE TREPORT is the getaway to the Greater Paris and its economical attractiveness. It is only a 2-hour motorway drive to Paris, and 30min to reach the main highways that lead to major cities, such as Calais, Dunkerque, Rouen, Le Havre and more.

Under the Seine-Maritime department governance, LE TREPORT is the 3rd port of the department as a matter of yearly tonnage, just behind the ports of LE HAVRE and ROUEN.

LE TREPORT SHIPPING STEVEDORING (L.T.S) is the main port operator on site.

In 2002, L.T.S. has invested in a multipurpose hydraulic crane, LIEBHERR A 954 C, to improve the ship loading and unloading operations. This acquisition marked a turning point in the history of the French ports’ operations.

It was some ground-breaking port equipment. From a technical point of view, this LIEBHERR 65 T hydraulic mobile crane, powered by a 285hp engine, holds a 5T load within a 19m reach.

It is equipped with a bucket for bulk products, a hook for packaged goods, scrap grapple; other accessories can be adapted to meet specialized handling requirements.

In 2006, this hydraulic handling crane was identically renewed and in 2012, L.T.S. geared up with an identical LIEBHERR hydraulic crane, in order to optimize the conditions of the handling operations. Ship’s cargo is being handled promptly and efficiently.

The commercial port of LE TRÉPORT

LE TRÉPORT is a tidal port, with a basin that is always afloat. Its two quays, North and South, are 350 m long each:

North quay

Covered and enclosed storage buildings, equipped with cells, 12,000 m2.

South quay

The concrete storage area is located alongside the quay, for easy access to sensitive products and goods that can be stored on bare area. The South Terminal is 10 566m², including a 3 532m² covered, not closed, storage area.

The Port area complies with the ISPS Code : it is entirely fenced and secured. Video system and access control measures are in place.
